Level VI Mid-Year Reflection Questions Leaders Should Ask Themselves

Leadership Development Series

As leaders, we're often focused on what's next—meeting deadlines, solving problems, leading teams, and pursuing new goals.

But sustainable leadership isn't just about moving forward.

It's also about taking time to pause.

Reflection creates clarity. It helps us let go of what no longer serves us and refocus on what matters most.

If you're entering the second half of the year, here are three questions worth asking yourself.

1. What am I doing that no longer serves me?

Leadership requires intentional choices.

Take inventory of habits, commitments, or mindsets that are draining your energy or pulling your attention away from your priorities.

Sometimes growth begins with letting go.

2. What should I stop doing?

Many leaders stay busy without staying effective.

Consider eliminating activities that don't create meaningful value, such as:

  • Low-value meetings

  • Constant urgency

  • Reactive communication

  • Tasks that can be delegated

Creating space is often the first step toward greater impact.

3. What deserves more attention?

Leadership is ultimately about investing your time where it matters most.

Ask yourself:

  • Which relationships need strengthening?

  • Which priorities deserve greater focus?

  • What work will create the greatest long-term impact?

Where your attention goes, your leadership follows.

Finish the Year with Intention

The second half of the year is an opportunity to realign, refocus, and lead with greater purpose.

Small adjustments today can create meaningful momentum tomorrow.

Take a moment this week to pause, reflect, and choose one intentional action that moves you closer to the leader you want to become.

Lead intentionally. Finish strong.
